PRAYER CHANGES THINGS

Good Afternoon,

Praying that all is well with you all, this is a short post to those that may have missed Pastor Lensey's post on FB concerning our beloved Lacresha, she had to go to the hospital on last night.

Let's remember to keep her and her family in our continued prayers knowing that Prayer changes situations and circumstances around for the better.  Let's continue to pray for and encourage the man and woman of God that count it not robbery to share their time and effort to spread the good news in hopes of winning souls, renewing minds, and refreshing visions/dreams in the lives and hearts of God's people.

Matthew 18:20 ~ For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

Matthew 18:19 ~ Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.

Pastors Lensey & Lacresha Hayes, we love you and you're in our continued prayers!

Bold, Daring, Determined

As an author, my passion and my job are one in the same. And while at times that fact can complicate my day, for the most part, it runs smoothly. I'm doing what I love on my own time and terms. I can remember times when I worked in positions that were contrary to my skill set and my desires and I was totally unsatisfied.

Some of you reading this are unsatisfied with your life because you desire things you don't have. And I pose this question to you... what are you going to do about it? Moaning and groaning and imagining the what ifs will not give you your desires. You have to be willing to do something different. You must be bold, daring and determined. It's your life so live it!!!

SPLINTERED by Lacresha Hayes, an excerpt

How could she expect him to believe anything she said? She’d lied so many times. She’d deceived everyone in her life. Now, when she needed someone to believe her the most, no one did. He’d probably be no different.
“Are you going to say something?”
“Like what, Mena? What do you expect me to say?”
“I expect you to say something. Geez, Eric, I just opened up to you. I’d appreciate some kind of an answer.” The silence was so loud. Mena didn’t know what to do. The tears were streaming down her face. Her heart was pounding. Her hands were trembling. And no matter what Eric said, she could tell she’d probably lost the love she’d worked so hard to build with him.
“Mena, I need some time to think. Whether all of what you told me is true of not, I’m not sure I can handle this anymore. I don’t know how many times I can stand up for you, defending you against the terrible things people say about you. I’m no longer sure what we have is worth the headache.”
His words cut like a samurai sword. Was this really the end? After all the years of friendship and relationship, it was like salt in the wound to think she’d finally gotten the proposal of her dreams just to lose it all.
“Please, don’t walk out on me like this, Eric! I need you. I’m all alone in this. I’m weak and tired. I’m broken to pieces already. It will kill me if I lost you.”
“Stop with the dramatics, Mena. They no longer work on me.”
Mena ran ahead of Eric and blocked the doorway. “Please, just listen to me! You got to give…”
“NO! No, I don’t have to listen to you. I don’t have to give you anything anymore. You had everything you could possibly want. You had me. No, Mena, I don’t owe you anything.”

Positive Confessions Week

This week we're going to practice positive confessions. Words have creative power. Why misuse them? We have to learn to speak good and right things if we want a good life. Our confessions must change. The first confession is below.

I am whole. There is nothing missing and nothing broken. I am whole.

Poetry for Your Heart - Becoming: My Personal Memoirs

REALITY

You never really knew
How I felt about you
We just went through the motion
Never did you see
The most sensitive side of me
Your heart never had the notion

To  you it was a game
It was just the same
As it had been so many times before
I had given my love in vain
I was feeling the pain
It was destroying my very core

Would you do it different now
That you  know how
Your playing and lies hurt me
Or would you do it in spite
Bedding me tonight
Knowing that you don't want me

In this reality that I must face
In your heart I have no place
You're not mine, what can I say
I can only go on my way

You Can Do It...

Good Morning All, praying that your holiday is blessed beyond measure!  I decided to take this opportunity to share a few words of encouragement with you all.

Have you sat down lately and thought about what you want to do or be?  Was the results of your thinking just a little bit overwhelming?

Maybe you want to go back to school, or start your own business, write a book/novel perhaps, be a Doctor, lawyer or maybe singer or dancer.  Whatever the case may be it's not too late and it can be done even if the steps to accomplishing your dreams seem to be a little overwhelming.  TRUST ME, if you keep your focus on the process of accomplishing your dreams, YOU WILL NOT ACCOMPLISH THEM but if you take one step at a time, focusing on the finished product you will stride quickly.

Scripture tells us that we are "MORE THAN CONQUERORS" and that "WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST", knowing that with Christ we can do, say and be all that we dream.  God has given us the POWER to be VICTORIOUS in all that we do and say.  Receive that power and use it starting today - use your spare time to WRITE THE VISION AND MAKE IT PLAIN that when you and others see it you may run well towards it.  Thank God for our "LACRESHA HAYES" she is the perfect example of this that I'm speaking of on today (We love you Lacresha).

I encourage all that read this, please do not give up on your dreams/goals - whatever your obstacles may be that's hindering you, know that it has no power to stop you from accomplishing all that you set out to do.  My friends do whatever it takes to resurrect those dreams and goals that you have buried due to finance, heartache, pain, sexual abuse, domestic violence, education, fear, etc., don't allow those strongholds to hold you back any longer.  Without a vision we perish, speak life into your family, your atmosphere, your dreams, your goals - YES, YOU CAN DO IT!

Witness:  I needed this word also and I'm resurrecting some things in my life even as I type because encouraging you help me to realize that I too CAN DO IT!

Excerpt from BLACK DAKOTA by Lacresha Hayes

Dakota awoke suddenly! Sweat poured from her body as she trembled and cried. That dream felt so real. She looked at her hands. There was no blood there. What a relief!
Dakota got up and went into the bathroom. She looked as if she’d seen a ghost. She washed her face and scrubbed her hands as if she thought some invisible signs of blood may have been there.
    Knock, knock, knock.
It was still very early in the morning. Dakota was in no condition to deal with company.
    Knock, knock, knock.
The sound was more persistent. She walked over to her door. The knocking came again, but this time with a voice. “Police. Open up.”
It looked like her past had found her after all. There seemed to be no escaping it. Nowhere left to run, though her mind raced for a way to get out of the situation. “One moment, please.”
Dakota put on her house robe. She pulled herself together and prepared to pay the price for what happened those many years before. She slowly opened the door. “May I help you?”

Common Ground for Couples

Women and men differ in many aspects and those aspects are often exploited to sell magazines and books, television series and products. But I want to talk about two similarities.

Men and women everywhere want to be loved and respected. Some crave it so much that they do ridiculous things for it. And while the differences between men and women are real, the place to begin building a relationship is the common ground. Often times, husbands and wives find themselves at a standoff. Neither of them will bulge an inch to supply what the other desires until their own needs are met. This isn't how you do marriage and before long, the couple is divorced in their minds, hearts and souls even if not on paper.

Let's stop focusing on the differences and begin focusing on the similarities between the sexes. Let's begin to build one another in the areas that we know are lacking. Let's not be too afraid to yield to our mate. We just might find that the person sitting in front of us is more like us than we ever would have imagined.

Be Free

There are so many people imprisoned by their own belief system and the opinions of others. But it isn't until we embrace ourselves, love ourselves and put effort into improving ourselves that we can truly be happy. Don't allow yourself to be in bondage to carnality, the mindset of others, or to your past. You deserve a second chance. Today is that chance. Possess it and you'll find true peace.
